New Age: Between Salvation and Delusion

New Age is a spiritual movement of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries that grew out of Theosophical ideas and, in part, the New Thought spiritual movement. It emphasizes decentralized, personal spiritual exploration and is critical of traditional religious systems. It advocates integrating ancient systems (yoga, Kabbalah, qigong, tarot, magic, healing practices, and spirit channeling) on a new foundation. From Theosophy, it adopts the idea of Ascended Masters, while in recent decades it has also emphasized the spiritual presence of extraterrestrial civilizations such as the Pleiadians, Arcturians, Andromedans, the Ashtar Command, and similar entities.

It often draws on astrological ideas and sometimes on numerological ones as well. It proclaims the advent of the Age of Aquarius and the elevation of dimensions on our planet to 5D or higher. It frequently offers alternative healing and seeks a pseudoscientific connection between science and spirituality, in recent decades often through quantum physics.

Reading ancient religious texts reveals that their authors put hostile and destructive statements into God‘s mouth and associated Him/Her with evil deeds. One example is the deranged Old Testament Quasi-God, who advocated and demanded the genocide of the Canaanites and had earlier carried out a kind of “zoocide” by exterminating almost all life on Earth in the Great Flood. Zeus and various other ancient gods behave in similarly bizarre ways. New Age distances itself from these ancient religions.

At the same time, however, New Age becomes a trial and a trap for spiritual seekers. Through Theosophy, it contains numerous hidden agendas.

One of these is the idea that the worship of the biblical God must be curtailed and that Ascended Masters should take his place, such as the Theosophical (no longer Indian!) Sanat Kumara, or Satan, as we might call him, Paulus Venetianus, or Baal ben Satan, as we might call him, and others. Thus, instead of turning toward the highest and true God (aspects of whom are also present in the Bible, and other old texts!), a dark agenda operates within New Age, strengthening the role of forces even more sinister than the Old Testament Advocate of Genocide.

Another well-known agenda involves introducing the approach of the point as a limited Pythagorean number 1 (monad). Within this approach, Alice Bailey introduced the so-called Great Invocation prayer. The idea of the I AM Decree spread in a similar way. If the number 1 is not understood as the All, it becomes the number of the point and the ego, through which only a diminished flow of love and the divine can pass. Alongside energy vampirism, this is one of the fundamental approaches of black magic. Of course, much depends on the individuals involved and their level of awareness. When used in this better way, I AM can also serve as a tool for spiritual growth.

I maintain a cautious attitude toward calling upon extraterrestrials, Ascended Masters, and other entities. The invisible world is highly cunning and contains not only benevolent and openly destructive energies but also forms of action that are insincere or deceptive. In many respects, New Age is a dualistic detour in spiritual development, one that calls for renewed contemplation of the spiritual path and True God. Without this awareness and the ability to separate the wheat from the chaff, we will not be able to plant the paradise garden of the future.

Ascended Masters—Masters of God or Archons of the Evil Demiurge?

Every age has its own ideas about the Invisible World. In the past, people spoke of dwarves and fairies, deities and demons, then angels and devils, later Ascended Masters, and today various kinds of aliens. Sometimes these are beings that practitioners frequently see during meditation; at other times, they are the play and manifestation of various energies in the mind of a person with schizophrenia.

The idea of Ascended Masters was popularized in the late nineteenth century by Theosophy, the principal precursor of today’s New Age movement. On the one hand, the basic concept derives from Greek mythology, in which the gods placed a mortal in the heavens as a constellation. Sometimes this happened after the mythological figure’s death. In other cases, however, figures were taken up into the heavens while still alive, such as Callisto and Arcas (Ursa Major and Ursa Minor). These heroes did not die but underwent a transformation of their bodily state (catasterism). They now live an eternal life in the heavens. In Jewish tradition, Elijah underwent a similar ascension, although the idea of a stellar body in the form of a constellation is absent there.

The aforementioned Jewish and Greek pagan traditions influenced the development of Christianity. The Gospels of Luke and Mark, as well as the Acts of the Apostles, describe how Jesus Christ, having risen from the dead, ascended into heaven some time later. Unlike the stories of Callisto and Ganymede, according to tradition, Jesus Christ ascended into heaven through his own spiritual powers and the grace of God. This ascent represents the elevation of a spiritual master into eternal life in an ascended state. Unlike the Ascension, Jesus’ mother Mary and, in addition, Enoch are said to have undergone an Assumption. Mary and Enoch were assumed into heaven through God’s grace, whereas Jesus’ Ascension was also the result of his own power.

Christian ideas about the Ascension subsequently influenced the development of Theosophy, which introduced the idea of Ascended Masters, of whom there were supposedly many besides Jesus. Attempts were made to communicate with these so-called Ascended Masters. The great pitfall of Theosophy is that it separated ascension from the presence of God. When dealing with the nonphysical world, we can never know what will come through an invocation. The Theosophists also had their own hidden agendas. Their Ascended Masters mostly represent black magicians or individuals otherwise marked by evil.

The Ascended Master Sanat Kumara originates in Indian spirituality, where he represents a spiritual follower of Brahma, the creator god. The Theosophists, however, gradually transformed him into the Lord of the World. Sanat Kumara’s association with Christianity, mountains or heights, and dominion over the world changes the context. Sanat is an anagram of Satan. The evil spirit is said to have tested Jesus on a mountain while acting as the lord of the world. The Theosophical Sanat Kumara can therefore become something quite different from the mythological figure of Indian tradition.

Paul the Venetian is a corruption of Baal ben Tanas, where Tanas is Sanat spelled backward and, in turn, an anagram of Satan. The full name therefore appears to be Baal ben Satan.

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky communicated with two spirits: one was Koot Hoomi and the other Morya, or Maurya. Koot Hoomi is a corruption of Gautama, while Morya derives from the name Māra. Gautama Buddha fought the demon Māra. It appears that the Theosophists interpreted Gautama’s teachings as a rejection of a personal God and that, through his atheism, he supposedly attained a form of synthetic enlightenment.

They also took aim at Christianity. They objected to the wholeness of Jesus Christ’s purported ascension and his connection with God. Therefore, just as some Gnostics did, they separated Jesus and Christ into two distinct persons. Christ means king, or anointed one, and is a function of Jesus rather than an independent person. The Ascended Master (False) Christ, together with the Ascended Master (False) Jesus, thus represents the forces of division and duality.

Alice Bailey developed a closer connection with Djwhal Khul, whom Helena Petrovna Blavatsky had already known. Djwhal Khul is said to have transmitted the text of The Great Invocation to Alice Bailey. This prayer is supposedly a universal world prayer, but in reality, it represents an invocation of anti-divine forces, as I have demonstrated in a separate article.

The Ascended Master Saint Germain is a rather suspicious figure. He is said to have developed the I AM decree, which activates the upper energy centers and can lead to illusions and difficulties. In the New Orleans tradition, he appears as the vampire Jacques Saint Germain. Although vampires are not Ascended Masters, they are, in fact, astral beings whose virtually eternal lives bear a strong resemblance to the Theosophical Ascended Masters.

I allow for the possibility that someone might become truly ascended in the sense of possessing such powerful consciousness and energy, together with such a strong sense of wholeness, that their body becomes transparent and virtually disappears from this dimension. I have no personal experience of this; in fact, I find it amusing even to make such a statement. 😊 Nor do I know anyone who has succeeded in doing so. I have heard secondhand about a certain Ms. Jiang from China who supposedly achieved this. Did she really? I don’t know. There is a bit of a doubting Thomas in me. Nevertheless, I remain open to many possibilities.

So what should we make of all these Ascended Masters? I simply pray to God. If God takes care of me through a genuine Ascended Master of God, that is fine. And if He takes care of me in some other way, that is fine, too.

Commentary on The Great Invocation: The Pitfalls of a Famous Theosophical Prayer

The supposed Ascended Master Djwhal Khul is said to have telepathically transmitted the text of “The Great Invocation” to the Theosophist Alice Bailey (1880–1949). It is regarded as a universal world prayer. Before proceeding with the commentary itself, it is necessary to point out that Theosophists published a magazine called Lucifer (renamed The Theosophical Review in 1897) while also believing in the existence of Sanat Kumara, whose name, Sanat, is an anagram of Satan. They publicly denied any connection between their movement and Satan, out of fear of persecution.

From the point of Light within the Mind of God

The number 1 can be represented philosophically as the number of the whole, which is neither even nor odd. However, it can also be represented as a point, limitation, or implosion. This is therefore a numerological code to which we must pay attention. In our case, 1, as a point, represents the restriction of the complete, divine light, which is characteristic of anti-divine methods. Placing the idea of light first reveals the identity of the person hiding behind the point of light. His name is Lucifer, once the bearer of God’s light and a symbol of the planet Venus, but later regarded as the fallen prince of darkness and bearer of false light.

Let light stream forth into the minds of men.

Commentary: This represents the spiritual connection of human beings with Lucifer.

Let Light descend on Earth.

No commentary.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God

Commentary: Restricting love to a point represents an implosion of God’s love, just as restricting light to a point represents a limitation of light. The restriction of God’s love is, once again, characteristic of anti-divine methods.

Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.

Commentary: This synthetic, non-divine love then fills people’s hearts.

May Christ return to Earth.

Commentary: Here, Christ appears as an Ascended Master—the (False) Christ—who, together with the Ascended Master (False) Jesus, represents the forces of division and duality.

From the centre where the Will of God is known.

The center of God’s Will represents a point, or an implosion, of God’s Will (anti-divine approach).

Let purpose guide the little wills of men The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

Commentary: This speaks of surrendering oneself to the Masters, without even defining them more precisely. Invoking (all) Masters is a black-magical formula intended to attract indiscriminately all energetic realms. Beneficial realms withdraw in the presence of unfavorable forces, and ultimately only the intentions of the dark, black-magical Masters prevail.

From the centre which we call the race of men let the Plan of Love and Light work out

Commentary: The center of the human race represents an implosion of God’s humanity and the emergence of a synthetic humanity guided by anti-divine forces. The implosion of God’s love and God’s light produces synthetic love and synthetic light, both of which are dualistic.

And may it seal the door where evil dwells. Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Commentary: This reflects a division between the forces of apparent darkness and false light. The forces of false spiritual light (Lucifer), together with the forces of overt spiritual darkness (Satan), form part of a dualistic project and always require a struggle against the opposing side. According to Gnostic perspectives, the entire realm of dark forces is governed by the evil Demiurge (Ialdabaoth) and his archons.

Today, we can also see this dualistic struggle in the “alien ideologies”: the benevolent synthetic Pleiadians (representatives of Lucifer) fight against the reptilians (representatives of Satan). Synthetic light and synthetic love represent the plan of anti-divine forces to keep human beings trapped in a matrix of duality and division so that these forces can extract energy from them. Such a prayer reinforces the planetary farm of the Invisible World.

Commentary on the “I AM” Decree: The Pitfalls of a Famous Neo-Theosophical Decree

Guy Ballard (1878–1939) and his wife, Edna Anne Wheeler Ballard (1886–1971), are said to have established telepathic contact with the Ascended Master Saint Germain in the 1930s and received the “I AM” decree from him.

Saint Germain, as an Ascended Master, is a potentially controversial figure. As demonstrated in the article on Theosophists, calling upon entities from the invisible world involves considerable risk, since we cannot know for certain what will come among us. Some so-called Ascended Masters are undoubtedly serving evil forces. These include Paul the Venetian (Baal ben Satan), the Theosophical (rather than Indian) Sanat Kumara (Satan Kumara), and the False Christ and False Jesus, acting as masters of division and duality. In the old American Louisiana tradition, Saint Germain is regarded as an immortal vampire, which may link his status as an Ascended Master to the realm of evil. According to Alice Bailey, at least, Djwhal Khul, whom some also consider an Ascended Master, is said to have transmitted the prayer The Great Invocation, which conceals highly controversial content.

The “I AM” decree itself is based on a mantra that primarily affects the upper chakras and their connection with the chakras or energies beyond the physical body. This is also the greatest danger of the mantra. If we do not ground ourselves and our lower bodily energy centers are not open, too much energy will become active in the upper centers. This often leads to illusions, a false sense of spiritual growth, and the draining of energy to those who harvest it in the invisible world. It can cause energy to accumulate in the head, which is potentially dangerous for people with high blood pressure, those at risk of stroke, and people with mental illnesses. A weakening of energy in the lower chakras can also gradually contribute to the development of illness more generally.

If the mantra is practiced in a way that ensures the activation of energy in the lower part of the body, and if, while reciting the “I AM” mantra, we visualize wholeness and omnipresence rather than activity originating from a single point, then I have no objections to using the mantra. My main concern is the context in which the decree was developed.
