Chaldean Numerologist: Lloyd Strayhorn

Lloyd Strayhorn is an American numerologist and astrologer known for his numerology book Numbers and You: A Numerology Guide for Everyday Living. The first editions of this book were published around 1980. In it, he primarily advocates Chaldean numerology (based on Cheiro method), although he also uses it alongside Pythagorean numerology. So, a part of the book is also dedicated to the latter system. Lloyd Strayhorn has been present in the American public for over 40 years and has influenced many Chaldean numerologists.

Lloyd Strayhorn uses alpha-numeric encoding as advocated by Cheiro

In the mentioned book, he identified which numbers govern certain sports, musical instruments, and gifts based on Chaldean calculations of individual words. This approach was likely adopted from some Pythagorean numerologists and, in my opinion, is largely misguided. It overlooks the universal vibration of a sport, instrument, or gift.

More interesting are his studies on the connection of numbers with specific zodiac signs and numbers, compatibility between partners’ numbers, the relationship between numbers and sexuality, the dynamics between parents and children, the connection between numbers and childbirth, and similar topics. In this book, Strayhorn also mentions a special Rosicrucian approach to life cycles, where the year is divided into 7 periods of 52 days each. Interestingly, in this book, he does not address compound numbers.

He also attempts to establish the principle of a personal week. He supports the Pythagorean approach to universal and personal years, months, and days. I won’t say that this approach has no influence, but my research on days, months, and years has led me to the conclusion that this Pythagorean method yields, at best, very weak results.

His descriptions of relationships between numbers slightly differ from those of Cheiro. Like Gerun Moore, he created his own table of lucky numbers for each day of the year (while Gerun Moore speaks of key numbers). In his book Lloyd’s Numbers and You Relationship Guide: A Cosmic Way To Better Understanding, in the chapter on relationships (Chapter Two), he slightly diverges from the usual approach in Chaldean numerology. In some cases, I use similar approaches myself, but some solutions leave me surprised and skeptical.

Unfortunately, I don’t have data on his birth date, but we can look at his numerological chart based on his name and surname. In my calculation of vowels and consonants, you may also notice from other examples that I treat the letter Y as a consonant. Personally, I believe that treating this letter in this way yields the best results in analysis.

We particularly notice a multitude of numbers that add up to base numbers 3, 6, and 9. This is a triad of powerful numbers that often bring material success or an interest in business, the ability to manifest, or spiritual interest. The placement of numbers 24 and 15 (78; 7+8=15) is such that it brings a sense of communication, public presence, and performance. Lloyd Strayhorn has written several books and also appears in the media. The occult search is brought about by the numbers 7, 78, 30, 39, 11 and 22, and probably also by the heavenly 7 in the vowels.

Although much depends on his birth numbers, a significant feature of his name and surname numerological chart is that the energies can work in a positive or negative direction, depending on what Lloyd Strayhorn chooses. Recommendations for him include: no manipulation (78), balanced help to others, tithing, and praying to God. In this way, numbers like 93 (and 12; 9+3=12) and 15 are balanced. The name Lloyd Strayhorn can bring certain complications, unfortunate circumstances, or an undesired sacrifice in life. However, it can also lead to a higher purpose, good deeds, and inner fulfillment.

Chaldean Numerology: Numerological Chart or Numeroscope

A numerological chart or numeroscope (from Latin numerus = “number” and Greek σκόπος = “observer, watcher”) is a comprehensive display of name and date numbers associated with one’s destiny. There is no unified approach among numerologists regarding what exactly a numeroscope should include or how it should be visually represented. Each numerologist designs the numerological chart in their own way.

In Chaldean numerology, for many practitioners, the numerological chart includes only the name number, surname number, Total Name Number (TNN), and Birth date number. Some add the Life Path number and a special Goal number, which is derived from the Birth date number and the TNN (also referred to as the Career number or Hidden number). Chaldean numerologists rarely consider the number derived from the day and month of birth.

Complex numeroscopes first appeared in modern Pythagorean numerology after World War I. These numeroscopes are also the most standardized. They display name numbers, which are divided into vowel numbers (Soul Urge, Soul or Heart’s Desire), consonant numbers (Personality, Body or Quiescent Self), and whole numbers (Expression, Mind). For date numbers, the Life Path is primarily considered, while predictions use Pinnacles, Challenges, letter transits, and universal and personal years, months, and days. A special Goal number is also used, derived from the TNN and Life Path. In the last 20 years, the interpretation of so-called Arrows has also become widespread.

There are, of course, mutual influences and shared foundations between Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology. The differences between the two schools are not as significant as some claim. Unfortunately, some Chaldean numerologists have gone so far as to uncritically adopt all Pythagorean techniques for designing and interpreting numerological charts. For example, personal years, months, and days have such a minimal effect that their use causes more confusion than clarity.

In Chaldean numerology, vowel and especially consonant numbers are crucial for proper interpretation and, in my opinion, should be included in the numerological chart. In fact, these numbers were already known in 19th-century Chaldean numerology, but this knowledge faded into obscurity. After World War II, Chaldean numerologists began using them again under the influence of the Pythagorean school. The Life Path number should also be considered, even though it does not hold as much significance as the day of the month number.

My style of numerology chart using Nikola Tesla as an example.

Some modern numerologists (both Chaldean and Pythagorean) have gone a step further by introducing various other numbers. In Chaldean numerology, the growth of the Danish numerology school (August Darius Danielsson, Johannes and Estel Ehwass, Novalee Wilder) is especially notable. This school connects name and date numbers in a special way with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which is typically represented in the shape of a rhombus.

August Darius Danielsson, apparently the founder of this school, calls the basic numerological Tree of Life (represented as rhombus) “The Human Self,” while the basic date matrix is represented as a triangle, which he calls “The Higher Self.” Date numbers also create a parallel with “The Human Self,” forming an additional Tree of Life. Danielsson refers to this rhombus as “The Highest Self.” Each of these sections contains a multitude of numbers.

The Ehwass duo presents a similar structure for the numerological chart. They call “The Human Self” the “Name Chart,” and “The Highest Self” the “Psychic Chart.” They retain the name “The Higher Self.” For consonant numbers, they design their Tree of Life/rhombus as the “Personality Chart,” and for vowel numbers as the “Vocation Chart.”

The Danish school, therefore, introduced advanced standardized numerological charts. However, it diverges significantly from the traditional understanding of how to calculate name numbers. Practitioners of this school create composite numbers from non-composite name or surname numbers, which then become the actual name or surname numbers. They do something similar with date numbers in “The Highest Self”/”Psychic Chart.” Members of this school also calculate so-called year ranks and day ranks, which they use for prediction. Personally, I do not belong to the Danish school. I have reservations both about their application of the Tree of Life and their method of calculating name numbers.

Chaldean Numerology and Pavel Durov

Pavel Durov (Pavel Valeryevich Durov; Russian: Па́вел Вале́рьевич Ду́ров) is a Russian-Ukrainian entrepreneur who founded the social network VKontakte and later created the messaging platform Telegram. He is a strong advocate for internet freedom without government control. Opinions on his work are divided. His social networks have facilitated communication among Russian protesters, connections between Belarusian activists, the organization of the Euro-Maidan protests in Ukraine, and have been used in protests in Iran.

On the other hand, both Ukrainian and Russian authorities, as well as organized crime and pedophile networks, have exploited Telegram for their own purposes. Some view Durov as a victim of Putin’s regime, while others see him as a secret Russian agent. His recent arrest in France has caused a stir in international public opinion.

What does numerology say about him? He was born on the 10th of the month (base number 1), and his Total Name Number (TNN) in Chaldean numerology is 75 (base number 3). These are strong, masculine numbers. He also has the numbers 11 and 83 (base number 2), a Life Path Number of 24 (base number 6), and other numbers that bring some softer energies, too.

Like Donald Trump and Mike Lynch, Pavel Durov also has a number chain of 3, 5, and 8, which can represent money (and very rarely financial difficulties). The TNN, Life Path, and birth date represent a combination of powerful numbers 1, 3, and 6, governed by the benefics Sun, Jupiter, and Venus. This suggests a potential for financial stability. However, from a numerological perspective, this alone may not be enough to bring someone immense wealth. We must always remember that alongside numerology, a person’s life is influenced by other aspects of fate and various other factors. Moreover, exceptional achievements are often not traceable in fate analyses; rather, fate analyses reflect character and fundamental interests.

Pavel Durov’s numerological chart is also a karmic one, as it contains the numbers 12 and 75 (whose digits also sum to 12;7+5=12). Sepharial interpreted the number 12 as: “Reversal of position; culpability; chastisement; loss of honour; danger of violent death; either enforced or voluntary; dangers from women; catastrophe.”

These numbers, 12 and 75, connect with some others in a way that creates very strong spiritual tendencies. It is said that Pavel Durov is a vegetarian (or at least doesn’t consume meat from supermarkets) and lives a relatively ascetic life for a wealthy man. The spiritual power of the number 12 can be channeled into good deeds and seeking good karma, which can enhance the positive aspects of his chart. Thus, the number 12 is not always negative. Of course, Durov must still be careful not to become a victim or to victimize others.

The combination of the numbers 23 and 75 can generate an interest in software and computing. Numbers like 11, 86, and 24 increase interest in social life, as do the number 23 and the number chain with base numbers 1, 5, and 6.

However, the repeated number 12 (75, 84) still indicates that a person can become a victim, especially if he or she also sacrifice others. As mentioned, 12 is a karmic number. The number 11 (83) can represent legal disputes or opponents, too. Cheiro described the number 11 as: “It gives warning of hidden dangers, trial, and treachery from others.” The number 10 from his birth date can represent swings of fate, both upward and downward. It is known that Pavel Durov sold his company VKontakte, allegedly under pressure and for a lower price. Soon after, he fled Putin’s regime, relocating to a safer environment and focusing on developing Telegram. But even then, there were difficulties—on August 24, 2024, he was arrested in France for allegedly allowing criminal organizations to connect on Telegram.

Pavel Durov mentioned that he had changed his name in his French passport to Paul du Rove, which is meant to be a humorous translation of his name. However, if this is true, the new name (which he only uses in France) may not have done him much good—TNN is 93, which corresponds to the number 12 (and this 12 is strongly reinforced by other 12s in his numerology chart), while the name itself has the number 18. Together, this could indicate being a victim in legal proceedings. Additionally, the name was not changed according to numerological rules and has retained much of the essence of his widely known name, Pavel Durov.

If we look at the energy trends in Pavel Durov’s life, we can see that in July and August 2024, the energies of the numbers reached an energetic low. The day of August 24, 2024, by the criteria I use, brought unfortunate energies. On that day, Durov was arrested in France. Since the energies in his prognostic chart then improve, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months and the next year.

I should point out that classical techniques for personal year, month, and day, which are strongly present especially in Pythagorean numerology, are generally not reliable. On August 24, 2024, Durov’s personal year is 1+0+1+0+2+0+2+4= 10, his personal month is 10+8= 18, and his personal day is 18+2+4=24. The number 18, in contact with the annual number 10, can bring severe legal disputes, but it is somewhat balanced by the number 24, which is one of the luckiest numbers in numerology. Cheiro describes this number as: “Fortunate; it promises the assistance and association of those of rank and position with one’s plans; it also denotes gain through love and the opposite sex; it is a favourable number when it comes out in relation o future events.” However, it is unusual to expect someone to be arrested on a fortunate personal day with number 24 (!).

From a numerological perspective, Durov remains an enigma: Is this man merely a victim, or does he occasionally sacrifice others? What are the actual consequences of a free internet? From 2017 to 2021, Durov was at an energetic peak. The current years bring legal troubles but also analytical abilities. Soon, years marked by the relationship between numbers 9 and 7 (possible intrigue, spies, covert actions, crime) will arrive, likely meaning that the issues currently stirring global public opinion will resurface in a few years.

What can Pavel Durov do to improve his prospects? He must always strive to maintain authority and develop courage. Additionally, he has an increased ability to approach life in a spiritual way and to improve his karma through good deeds. This way, he can reduce the unfavorable influences in his fate and enhance the favorable ones.

Mike Lynch and Chaldean Numerology

Mike Lynch (Michael Richard Lynch, born 16 June 1965) was a British entrepreneur and the founder of Autonomy, a software company. He later established the investment firm Invoke Capital, through which he also oversaw Darktrace, a cybersecurity company.

In Chaldean numerology, Lynch’s Total Name Number (TNN) and birth date contain the numbers 2 (38) and 7 (16). These two numbers are interchangeable and strongly connected. While they are associated with the Moon, their simultaneous presence and connection also grant Lynch a certain power. The number 38 is composed of the numbers 12 (base number 3) and 17 (base number 8), which are often linked to money. The strong relationship between base numbers 3 and 8, along with the connection between base numbers 2 and 7, makes his TNN a more potent form of the number 11, which symbolizes “Force.”

Numbers 3 and 8 are also associated with the number 68, creating a link similar to that found in Donald Trump’s numerology, involving the base numbers 3, 5, and 8. These three numbers often signify money matters and business involvement. Business success is also favored by the connections between the numbers 0, 3, and 6. The number 68 can be associated with computer software, and the numbers 5 and 7 combine to form the number 57, which can also be partially linked to software.

Lynch’s last name contains the letter Y, which many Chaldean numerologists believe should always be considered a vowel. The letter Y originates from the letter Yod, and in its original vibration, it is actually a consonant. Because Y can represent both a vowel and a consonant, its fundamental nature, due to its original vibration, remains primarily that of a consonant. Although the distinction between these influences isn’t entirely clear, practical results suggest that Y should fundamentally be analyzed as a consonant, even when associated with the “ee” sound. In Lynch’s case, analyzing Y as a vowel would loose indicators pointing to his work with software, leading to an incorrect analysis.

Unfortunately, the numbers 38 and 12 can also indicate legal disputes, and the number 16 can bring an unexpected loss of influence and power. After selling Autonomy, Mike Lynch was sued by Hewlett-Packard for alleged fraud. He was arrested and, in 2022, extradited to the United States. In June 2024, when his personal energies were somewhat more favorable (though still slightly unfavorable, but at a peak after 18 months), he was acquitted of all charges and released. His energies worsened in July, so he was fortunate that the court’s decision was made in June.

In August, his energies strengthened again, though they still retained a negative tone. This aligns with Lynch celebrating his freedom (energy strengthening) and then tragically dying in a sailing accident (reflecting the overall negative energy level). It’s important to understand that numerology cannot provide precise predictions (just as other systems for determining one’s fate cannot). It does not predict events such as death or marriage but rather indicates whether the energies of a specific day, month, or year are more challenging or more favorable.

Of course, much depends on which predictive model is used. My current approach also doesn’t provide perfect results, and it’s difficult to account for astrological and other influences that may improve or worsen a situation.

Specifically, August 19, 2024, brought Lynch, according to my approach, a very negative form of the number 15, known as “The Devil.” Sepharial ascribed the following meaning to the number 15: “Fate; inevitable; dangers to offspring and marital strife; luxury.” On that day, the number 15 was strongly connected with water, and his birthdate of the 16th, which also governs water and accidents, was strongly activated.

It’s also worth noting that the classic method for calculating personal years, months, and days gives a personal year of 1+6+6+2+0+2+4=21, a personal month of 21+8=29, and a personal day of 29+1+9=39 for August 19, 2024. The numbers 29 and 39 are considered unlucky and are associated with water. The number 29 can represent division or conflict, and the number 39 is a form of the number 12, which is called “The Victim.” Sepharial ascribed the following meaning to the number 12: “Reversal of position; culpability; chastisement; loss of honour; danger of violent death; either enforced or voluntary; dangers from women; catastrophe.” In this case, this approach aligns well with the events. Unfortunately, this is an exception to the rule—the established method for determining personal years, months, and days usually misses the mark.

Personal Years, Months, and Days

The traditional method of calculating personal years, months, and days, based on birth data, has been in use for approximately a century. This method involves considering the digits of the day and month, and then adding the digits of the current year to calculate the personal year. Subsequently, the digits of the current month are added to this result to determine the number for the personal month, and finally, by adding the digits of the current day, the personal day is obtained. Unfortunately, the method for determining personal years, months, and days mostly doesn’t provide accurate results.

As an example, let’s consider the day of Pavel Durov’s arrest—August 24, 2024. According to the traditional method, on this date, Durov would have a personal year of 1+0+1+0+2+0+2+4 = 10, a personal month of 10+8 = 18, and a personal day of 18+2+4 = 24. The number 18 can bring legal disputes. On the one hand it is favorably influenced by the number 24, which is otherwise one of the luckiest numbers in numerology. However, it is also influenced by the negative relationship with the annual number 10. Although the period could be said to work, an arrest would be expected on an inauspicious day. Yet 24 is a lucky number. How can someone be arrested on a lucky day?

In contrast, Chaldean numerology provides a precise analysis of compound numbers in the personal year, month, and day. This approach offers a powerful tool for scrutinizing established hypotheses and sheds light on the fact that not all teachings from the traditional method are universally true. It is intriguing to note that despite its strong prevalence and propagation in Pythagorean numerology, many Chaldean numerologists do not adopt this approach of personal years, months, and days.

Exploring different numerological perspectives unveils the rich complexity and potential inconsistencies within this field, prompting further contemplation and critical examination of established methods and beliefs.
